Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How far in advance should I place my order?

    • Since sourdough is naturally leavened, the process to prepare the dough, ferment it, and then bake it takes over a day. Place your order at least two days in advance.

  2. How do I know if my order was accepted?

    • Once we receive your order, we will send a confirmation email. Your order is not confirmed until we send out the email.

  3. How long will my sourdough loaf last?

    • When wrapped in a tea towel on the counter, the loaf should last around 3 days. Store the loaf cut side down and make sure it is not left exposed directly to air for long periods of time.

  4. How should I store my loaf so that it lasts longer?

    • To extend the life of your loaf, we recommend slicing it and then freezing it in a freezer safe bag. When you want a slice, simply remove one slice from the bag and toast it and it will be fresh as the day it was baked. It can last in the freezer for over a month.

    • You can also freeze the entire loaf without slicing. When ready to eat, dampen the loaf with water and then place in an oven heated to 350 degrees for around 30 minutes covered in aluminum foil. Then, unwrap the bread and let it finish for another 10 or so minutes to crisp up the crust.

  5. Where do I pickup my order?

    • Since we are a cottage bakery, we do not post our address publicly. When your order is received, we will send an email with pickup details. We are located near Baton Rouge High School and Catholic High School in MIdcity.
